National Champions: Cheer Team From Hudson Valley Wins Big Members of a high school cheerleading team from the Hudson Valley are now national champions.  The Mahopac High School Varsity Cheerleading team emerged as the national champions after winning the National Cheerleaders Association High School Nationals, which was held in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 21, and Sunday, Jan. 22.  The team participated in the Intermediate Coed Varsity Crowd Performance category, where they ranked first.   Wow!!! North Rockland HS Cheerleaders Win 70th Westchester County Invitational Some local cheerleaders have a little more pep in their step than usual after being crowned as champions. North Rockland High School earned top honors at the 70th annual Westchester County Cheerleading Invitational, which was held at the County Center in White Plains. Several individual cheerleaders and coach Tanya Kelsch also earned individual accolades. The 22-member squad won the Grand Championship with a series of flips, twists, spins and other gymnastic moves to conquer the competition. More Than 1,000 From Region To Compete In Westchester County Cheerleading Invitational More than 1,000 cheerleaders from Westchester and surrounding counties will be participating in the annual Westchester County Cheerleading Invitational, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 22 and Wednesday, Jan 23.
