Aluf Plastics Violated Odor Emissions At Least Five Times, Orangetown Court Rules The air might smell a little cleaner in Orangetown after a local business was found guilty in a court of violating the town's code of odor emissions on five occasions. Fire Breaks Out At Aluf Plastics In Orangeburg A firefighter was injured when an overnight blaze broke out at Aluf Plastics in Orangeburg. The fire began around 2:50 a.m. Sunday in an air filtration system outside the building at 2 Glenshaw St., police said.  Upon arrival, officers found a smoke condition inside the building and discovered a fire inside components of the air filtration system on the east side of the building, police said.  Department of Environmental Conservation was notified to investigate potentially contaminated water runoff from fire department operations into nearby storm drains. Power Saw Causes Fire At Orangeburg Plastics Plant This story has been updated. A power saw being used to dismantle an old tractor-trailer led to a large fire of three tractor-trailers and a dumpster at Aluf Plastics on Glenshaw Street in Orangeburg. The fires were reported around 2 p.m. Tuesday as a dumpster fire spread to the tractor-trailers that contain cardboard, Orangetown Police said. The Orangeburg, Blauvelt, Tappan, Piermont and Sparkill fire departments all responded to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire.
