Middletown Man Faces DWI Charge In Route 17 Stop

An Orange County man was among eight allegedly drunk drivers who were taken off the road and arrested by New York State Police troopers this week.

As part of their crackdown on impaired drivers, troopers arrested Middletown resident Edward Shala, 37, for DWI.

Shala was driving on Route 17 in Chester on Wednesday when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. An investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
