Maybrook Police Chief Among Five Officers Honored By Village

MAYBROOK, N.Y. – Village of Maybrook Police Chief Arnold “Butch” Amthor and four other officers were honored by the Village board for their actions in violent standoff that took place in May, according to the Times Herald-Record.

Amthor was shot in the shoulder while responding to a domestic dispute when Anthony Bostick opened fire. Officers returned fire, but never hit Bostick, who later died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot, the Record said. 

Maybrook Sgt. Michael Maresca, Maybrook Officer Kevin Greany and Montgomery Officer Lt. Alex Landolina III and Montgomery Officer John Hank were all awarded commendations during the ceremony, the Record reported.
