Duo Busted In Orange With Pot, Ecstasy, Prescription Pills, Police Say

A traffic stop on Route 17 in Monroe led to drug charges for a pair who were found in possession of marijuana, Ecstasy and prescription pills.

New York State Police troopers stopped Yonkers resident Mykell Gray, 37, for a vehicle and traffic law violation at approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23. During the subsequent stop, troopers reported that they detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Police said that a search of the vehicle determined that Gray was in possession of marijuana, and his passenger, 33-year-old Hazelton, Pa. resident Sarah Jimenez was in possession of “a large quantity of Ecstasy” and narcotic pills which were not prescribed to her. She was also in possession of marijuana.

Gray was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Jimenez was charged with two felony counts of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. She was also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Following arraignment, Gray was released on $500 bail. Jimenez is being held at the Orange County Jail without bail.
