The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Orange County residents regarding the residency of 59-year-old Daryl Kelly, who has moved from a residence on Grand Street to an address on First Street in Newburgh.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Kelly as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Kelly had sexual intercourse with his 9-year-old victim in October 1997. In June the following year, Kelly was convicted of three counts of first-degree criminal sexual act with a victim less than 11 years old, two counts of first-degree rape and six counts of first-degree sexual abuse with a person under the age of 11. Kelly was sentenced to a term of between 10 and 20 years in prison, though questions have been risen regarding his innocence following the conviction, according to reports.
