The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Orange County residents regarding the residency of 53-year-old Eulyss Bryant, who has moved to a residence on Chambers Street in Newburgh.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Bryant as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Bryant had sexual intercourse with his 14-year-old victim in Newburgh in March 1993. He was convicted of third-degree rape two months later and sentenced to a term of between 16 months and four years in state prison. He remains under the jurisdiction of the Newburgh City Police Department.
