Dr. Robert Josephberg said that the severe nature of baby Zachary's injuries was "unique to trauma in children" and that the injuries are the result of violent starts and stops like a car crash. He went on to testify that Zachary had "thousands" of hemorrhages, the Record Reported.

The retinal hemorrhages, Josephberg testified, combined with the extensive head trauma, made him certain they were the result of being forcefully shaken, The Record said.
