Owners Mikey Jackson and Aurelia Winborn say what makes their eatery special are the events and the bringing together of people that live in both areas.
"Both shops have always been focused the communities they are in," said Jackson. "We have a lot of bands and musicians, Trivia Night every Thursday in Cornwall, church events, school events."
The two make sure to keep their customer base in mind when planning their activities. That's especially true for parents.
"Its hard for parents to go out at night without spending a lot of money on a babysitter and then in most cases, your options are limited to bars," said Jackson.
"Our shops offer wine and beer as well as coffee and ice cream so there's something for everyone and it's not going to cost $100 bucks to come see some music or play trivia, even if you brought the entire family."
As the name implies, the main focus at 2 Alices is coffee and espresso but you can also find light food, bagels, pastries, soup, mac and cheese and the aforementioned wine, beer and ice cream. The Newburgh location has salad.
As for the name, the two original owners each had a daughter named Alice. Said Jackson: "We were going to change it when we bought the business 10 years ago, but it grew on us fast and now the name is not going anywhere."
The Cornwall 2Alices has been open since 2005 and under their ownership since 2007. They opened Newburgh in December 2014.
