First responders were called to a reported home explosion in Haymarket late on Tuesday afternoon. Crews responded to the 5900 block of Colby Hunt Court for a reported gas-related home explosion, according to a social media post made by the Loudoun County Career Fire Fighters association. The initial call came in at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Oct. 15 before a second alarm was called. According to officials, it is believed the fire stemmed from an outside gas leak caused by utility work. It is unclear if there were any injuries. The house was evacuated safely. Crews are on scene …

Commuters in Westchester are being warned that a portion of the Saw Mill River Parkway will close for a period of time to allow for roadwork. On Monday, March 27, between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., the Saw Mill River Parkway will close in both directions between Exit 21 (State Route 119) in Greenburgh and Exit Exit 26 (Taconic State Parkway) in Mount Pleasant, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closure is to facilitate utility work. All motorists should follow the posted detour while the closure is in effect.

Parents and students had to find another way to school in the morning after an overnight car crash prompted immediate utility work in Medway, authorities said. Tractor-Trailer Topples Two Poles On Route 46, KOs Power To Teterboro Muni Building
A tractor-trailer downed two utility poles -- and with them two transformers -- Tuesday morning outside the Teterboro Municipal Building on westbound Route 46. Utility workers said they expect power to the building to remain out for the day and that it would likely be "well into the evening" before their work is completed, authorities said. The driver got out under his own steam and was OK following the early-morning crash across from Teterboro Airport, responders said. The cause wasn't immediately determined. Moonachie police were investigating.

Month-Long Lane Closure On Route 120 Starts
There will be lane closures on Route 120 for nearly a month in Westchester, as contracting crews perform utility work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Monday, July 9, through Saturday, Aug. 4, there will be a single-lane closure with alternating traffic on Route 120 (King Street) in New Castle, between Route 117 (South Bedford Road) and Ridgewood Terrace.
