Daytime Closure For Busy Roadway In Hudson Valley To Last Weeks, DOT Says Motorists in the Hudson Valley will have to contend with daytime lane closures for weeks on Route 9W as crews begin work on a gas main installation. The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced that in Ulster County, there will be closures on the roadway beginning on Tuesday, May 31 in the Town of Saugerties. According to the NYSDOT, the closure will be in both directions between Cedar Street and Washington Street daily between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Friday, June 10. Hudson Valley Woman Accused Of Stealing Dead Person's Debit Card A woman in the region has been charged with allegedly stealing a dead person's debit card and using it to make purchases. The incident took place in Dec. 2021 in Ulster County in Kingston. Sarah M. Schatzel, age 34, of Kingston, was arrested on Monday, May 9, following an investigation into a complaint, said Chief of Saugerties Police Joseph Sinagra. According to the chief, the investigation began after the department received a complaint that someone was making unauthorized purchases on a debit card belonging to a dead person. Missing 6-Year-Old Boy Found Safe After Slipping Out Of House In Hudson Valley, Police Say After a massive search by police and volunteers, a missing boy was located by police in the Hudson Valley. At around 7:32 a.m., Monday, June 14, the caregiver for the youngster, who is autistic, called 911 to report the 6-year-old had slipped out of a house in Ulster County while she was in another room.
