Westchester Gang Member Sentenced For Attempted Murder, Conspiracy To Kill Witness
A member of the G-Shine Bloods gang in Westchester will spend decades behind bars after he admitted to a double shooting outside an area bar and then attempting to conspire to kill a witness, the District Attorney’s Office announced. Matthew Brown, of Delaware, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to his role in a shooting outside the Garden bar in Mount Vernon in 2016 and the subsequent conspiracy to kill a witness involved in the case. Firefighters Battle Two-Alarm Blaze In Mount Vernon Building
Firefighters battled a blaze at a seemingly vacant property during an early morning two-alarm fire in the city. Fire crews were dispatched to a South 5th Avenue home at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning after receiving reports of smoke coming from the building, which is one of the city’s oldest, according to News12.
