10 Sheep Killed In Barn Blaze In Hudson Valley A devastating barn fire in Dutchess County early Tuesday morning, Feb. 18 claimed the lives of 10 sheep, officials said. The blaze happened at 546 North Quaker Hill Rd. at around 5 a.m., according to Pawling Fire Marshal Everett White. Upon arrival, crews found the structure engulfed in flames.  Tragically, 10 sheep inside the barn died in the fire. Firefighters worked in the cold temperatures to bring the blaze under control, and crews cleared the scene by 6:10 a.m. Following the incident, White issued a reminder to residents with barns, chicken coops, and livestock to be extremely c…

The incident took place around 11 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 174 Walnut Drive in the town of Beekman in Dutchess County. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 18 in Pawling at the Cat Rocks Cliffs, said Captain John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. The woman, who was rescued by the Pawling Fire Department, suffered head and pelvis injuries, Watterson said. Hours-Long Emergency Effort Frees Trapped Horse In Area After four hours of hard work, the Patterson Fire Department managed to save a horse that was stuck in the mud on the banks of the Wonder Lake State Park. The incident unfolded after two horseback riders were riding in the area about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, when one of the horses sank into about 2 feet of mud on the banks of a lake, said the Patterson Fire Department. Man Found Dead Pinned Under Dodge Ram On Route 22 An investigation is underway after a 58-year-old Fairfield County man was found dead underneath a pickup truck in Dutchess County. New York State Police troopers responded to a 911 dispatch of a man pinned under a vehicle on Route 22 in the town of Pawling on Friday, June 1 just before 8 a.m.  James C. Roberts of Danbury was trapped under a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck. Pawling Fire Department removed the vehicle, but Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene by EMStar Paramedics. There are no signs of criminal or foul play at this time, police said. State Police were also assisted on …
