Police busted a man with an illegal handgun after being tipped off about a potential sale of the weapon in Westchester. At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, officers from the New Rochelle Police Department and Real-Time Crime Center at Westchester County Police Headquarters received information about a possible gun sale about to take place in the area of Pershing Square. Police apprehended a man who is accused of shooting his stepfather during an incident in Westchester. Officers from the New Rochelle Police Department responded to a Horton Avenue home at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16, where there was a report of a gunshot victim. New Rochelle Police Capt. Officers from the New Rochelle Police Department responded to a Union Avenue home at around 8:10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, where there was a report of a man who had been shot in the chest. In a harrowing traffic stop, a Westchester County police officer was injured on the Hutchinson River Parkway when a motorist drove off at high speed as the officer was attempting to take him into custody.
