Firefighters Work Quickly To Knock Down Mother's Day Fire In Westchester All hands were on deck on Mother’s Day when a blaze broke out at an area home, prompting a heavy response by local fire departments. Crews from the Tarrytown Fire Department were dispatched to a reported structure fire at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. Arriving in minutes, Chief Patrick Derivan said that there was a heavy smoke condition, with the flames breaching through the roof. In response, additional crews from Irvington, Ardsley, Sleepy Hollow, Dobbs Ferry and Elmsford offered mutual aid.
