A fundraising campaign has raised tens of thousands of dollars to help a Marine Corps veteran and martial arts school manager who was seriously injured in a Hudson Valley crash. Marine Corps veteran Mickaëlla "Micka" Nugent was seriously injured in a crash in the Orange County village of Harriman on Friday, April 12. She was then rushed to Garnet Medical Center in Middletown before being airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where she currently remains. Hudson Valley HS Junior Who Died Suddenly At Age 16 Remembered For 'His Everlasting Smile'
A Hudson Valley teen is being remembered for his "everlasting smile" after his sudden death. Dutchess County resident Jack Aidan Strehl, age 16, of Arlington, died on Friday, Oct. 14. A cause of death was not provided. Known as a hardworking member of the maintenance crews at The Links at Union Vale, Jack always impressed coworkers with his work ethic for such a young man, his obituary said. In July of 2017, at the age of 11, Jack earned his Blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do at Telesco’s Martial Arts after only five years of training. Justin Reale spent the last Saturday of his life with family, mentioning how excited he was for the end of the school year and all the fun events that went along with it, his parents in Orange County told the Warwick Valley Central School District.
