2 Dead In I-84 Crash Involving Freightliner, Government-Insured Vehicle: CT State Police Police have released details in a weekend crash on I-84 in Danbury that involved three vehicles including a Freightliner, and left two people dead. A disabled Hyundai in the left lane of the Exit 8 on-ramp was struck by a Lexus, whose driver was from Avon, traveling in the left, westbound lane around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, Connecticut State Police said. Some of the Hyundai's occupants had exited the vehicle, police said. After being struck by the Lexus, the Hyundai spun out into the path of the Freightliner. The southbound lanes of a stretch of the Saw Mill Parkway have reopened after a serious multi-vehicle crash. The crash occurred south of Exit 42 (Railroad Avenue) in Bedford at around 8:30 a.m. Nearby, Route 22 reopened in both directions after a downed tree and wires in the area of Route 138 in Lewisboro.
