Victim Burned In Yonkers Fire, Roads Closed A person was burned during a fire in Westchester that caused road closures, police said.  The fire happened at 21 Van Cortlandt Park Ave. in Yonkers on Thursday, Jan. 16, causing the road to close between Spruce Street and Elm Street, according to Yonkers Police.  The blaze began on the third floor at around 1 p.m. and also caused Elm Street to close between Walnut Street and Prescott Street, according to Yonkers Police Sgt. 14-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle At Yonkers Intersection A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was hit by a vehicle at a Westchester intersection.  The incident happened on Friday, May 3 just after 2:30 p.m., when a child was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Alder Street and Spruce Street in Yonkers, Detective Sergeant Frank DiDomizio said.  According to DiDomizio, an investigation determined that the boy ran out into traffic before being hit. Search For Suspect Underway After Shooting In Westchester Police are on the hunt for the person who shot a 27-year-old Westchester County man. The shooting took place around on Alder Street in Yonkers, between Elm Street and Spruce Street, at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, said Yonkers Police Sgt. Dean Politopoulos. The victim was found shot in the back with what Politopoulos said were non-life-threatening injuries. "The case is currently under investigation," said Politopoulos said.
