The Westchester County chapter of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) will present the award during halftime of their game on Friday at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

"This award goes to a high school boys varsity basketball team and head coach in Westchester County that has demonstrated hard work, fair play, cohesiveness, team spirit, and sportsmanship," a news release from the IAABO said. "It is with great pleasure that Mount Vernon High School and head coach Bob Cimmino be selected for this prestigious award."

The award was created in 2002 to honor Dennis Hurlie, a former president of the board of the IAABO who served for 37 years.

"He exemplified the ideals of the association by promoting the respect for the game, maintaining the highest standards of basketball officiating and, most importantly, encouraging the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship," The IAABO said about Hurlie in the  news release.
