MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Following a parent’s complaint that two Spanish-speaking students did not get the help they needed to learn English for about a year, the Mount Vernon school district has decided to improve its program for teaching the English language, lohud reports.

Photo Credit: File PhotoAmong other provisions in agreement with the office of Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, the district is required to create a tracking database for students screened for English proficiency and send reports to the state for three years, according to the report.
