Suspect Charged In Connection With 73-Year-Old Man's Death In Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - A man has been apprehended and charged in connection to the death of an elderly Mount Vernon man that was found dead in his South Fifth Avenue home earlier this week.

According to reports, Clifford Ali, 53, will be arraigned on manslaughter charges in Mount Vernon City Court in relation to the death of his elderly victim, who may have been a family member.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, police responded to a South Fifth Avenue home, where they found the 73-year-old man unconscious. He was later pronounced dead. Police have not announced a motive or cause of death.
