On Friday, acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty announced that Bronx natives Michael Maurice Grayson and Devon Guishard and Mount Vernon residents Tameek White and Patricia Fields pleaded guilty to assuming the identities of two victims and utilizing their social security numbers in an attempt to “purchase” the vehicle, drive off with it and sell it to the highest out-of-state bidder.

On Sept. 26 last year, Grayson and Fields assumed the identities of two people, and used their social security numbers, forged passports and forged driver’s licenses to obtain the capital needed to purchase the high-end vehicle from the Mercedes-Benz of New Rochelle car dealership.

In order to make the sale appear valid, White brought nearly $10,000 to the dealership as a down payment. The Mercedes was valued at $233,440.

According to McCarty, Guishard was the ring leader of the scheme, remaining in contact with White about the progress of the sale throughout via cell phone. he also emailed the insurance binder of the car to the salesman under the name of one of the stolen identities. Once the sale was complete, Guishard showed up to drive the car off the lot.

Guishard intended to re-sell the vehicle to buyers in other states. The Mercedes was eventually tracked down and recovered in Texas.

The identities that Grayson and Fields assumed were a retired FBI agent from Ohio and doctor from Florida. During the investigation, it was revealed that this scheme had been perpetrated in other parts of New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Arizona, California and Texas.

Guishard, Grayson and Fields are alls scheduled to be sentenced next month. Grayson and Fields will receive an indeterminate sentence of as many as three years in prison, while Guishard faces two to four years behind bars. White was sentenced on Friday to time served in Jail.
