MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – An unidentified man was the victim of a fatal shotgun blast in broad daylight Tuesday in a Sheridan Avenue parking lot in Mount Vernon.
The shooting occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m., according to police. Reports said police apprehended a male suspect at the scene, though the investigation is ongoing.
Sheridan Avenue was shut down between Ellwood Avenue and East Lincoln Avenue while police continued the investigation. The Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office removed the man’s body from the scene shortly before 7 p.m.
