Wanda T. Zysk, 94, Of Mount Vernon, Worked At Ward Leonard During WWII

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Wanda T. Zysk of Mount Vernon died Tuesday, Sept. 17. She was 94.

Zysk was born Feb. 14, 1919, in Bayside (Long Island), to Stephen and Constance (Smardzewska) Searles. She moved to Yonkers as a young girl. She worked for the World War II defense effort manufacturing bombsites at Ward Leonard in Mt. Vernon. She later worked at John Wanamaker in Yonkers.

Zysk is survived by her children, Robert P.(Pamela) Zysk of East Haven, Conn., Theodore S.(Donna) Zysk of Alachua, Fla., and Barbara L. (Bruce) Keating of LaGrange; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Theodore J. Zysk.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at St. Casimir's Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
