A registered "lifetime" sexual offender convicted of sodomizing a 31-year-old woman has reported a move in Westchester County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 61-year-old Dennis Magnotta, who has reported an address change to a residence on Linden Avenue in Mount Vernon.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Magnotta a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated for lifetime registration, though he is subject to petition for relief.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Magnotta sodomized his victim, unlawfully imprisoning her and having sexual intercourse in 1983. He was convicted of first-degree sodomy in 1985 and sentenced to a term of between nine and 18 years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Mount Vernon City Police Department.
