Metro-North Begins Electronic Ticketing For Harlem Line

Metro-North's eTix electronic ticketing service will begin on the Harlem Line on Monday morning, according to lohud.com.

The MTA eTix app allows the purchase of mobile tickets on the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North lines.

The service will begin with the 4:26 a.m. train out of Southeast, the report said.

As previously reported, the service that allows commuters to purchase train tickets from their smartphones made its debut earlier this summer. The service will be available to New Haven Line riders in August.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority plans to all of the east of Hudson lines before the summer concludes, lohud reported.

MTA's eTix app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
