Residents from across the city donated toys for needy children in the city. MV4U President Roberta James said the toys will be distributed Dec. 23 at four locations, including the Levister Towers and Traphagen Elementary School.
"We are all about the people of Mount Vernon," James said. "We care about our community and want to make sure we help out people who don't have much around the holiday season."
MV4U Treasurer Cathlin Gleason-Boncardo said the whole premise of the toy drive is to give back to the community.
"We want to bring back the pride we grew up with in Mount Vernon," Gleason-Boncardo said.
