Residents Invited To Mount Vernon Holiday Festivities

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Mount Vernon is celebrating with various events to keep residents busy and primed for the holidays.

The new date for the Mount Vernon holiday tree lighting is Wednesday at 6 p.m. at City Hall plaza. A free toy giveaway will be available to children under 12. Candy canes, refreshments and holiday music will be provided.

Join seniors for the annual Christmas luncheon Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Mount Vernon Armory, 144 North Fifth Ave.

The Macedonia Music and Arts Ministry presents the Living Crèche Children’s Music Pageant with Christmas music and dance Sunday at 4 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 141 South Ninth Ave.

A Kwanzaa Celebration will be held Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 11:30 a.m. at The Rev. Shelton E. Doles Center, 250 South Sixth Avenue. RSVP deadline is Monday, Dec. 28. RSVP to the Office of the Aging at 914-665-2315.
