Mount Vernon Youth Job Applications Due Next Week

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Applications are due next week for students ages 14 to 18 for after-school employment through the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau.

Students may turn in their completed applications and supporting documents from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the following locations: the main office of A.B. Davis Middle School, Room LL21 at Thornton High School and Room 245 at Mount Vernon High School. Applications also may be turned in at the cafeteria of Mandela High School from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday. Students from all other middle and high schools may turn in their applications from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the Youth Bureau office (Room 307) at City Hall.

“Mount Vernon is dedicated to providing the city’s youth with transferable skills and meaningful introductions into workplace environments,” Mayor Ernie Davis said in a press release. Our young people must learn how to develop a positive work ethic which includes responsibility, punctuality and team work in preparation for the real world of work."
