Two Workers Injured After Torch Sparks Flash Fire At Metro-North Yard In Westchester Two workers were injured when the torch they lit malfunctioned and caused a flash fire at a Northern Westchester railroad yard.  The incident happened on Thursday, Nov. 7 just before 9:45 a.m. at Metro-North's Croton-Harmon Railroad Yard in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the village's fire department. The blaze happened when two workers lit a malfunctioning torch that caused a "brief but concussive flash fire," the department said.  The workers were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Man Hospitalized After Bike Hits Car Driving Through Intersection In Yonkers A 65-year-old man was taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle collision at a Westchester intersection.  The crash happened in Yonkers on Thursday, Nov. 7 just before 5:30 p.m., when a car traveling through the intersection of Wakefield and Woodlawn Avenues on a green light was struck by a bicycle, according to Yonkers Police Sergeant Robert Spink.  Spink said the bicyclist reported pain in his leg and hand and was taken to a nearby hospital.  The vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene.

School Bus Goes Up In Flames In Westchester A busy road in the region was temporarily closed as crews battled a school bus fire.  The blaze happened on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 7 in Northern Westchester County when the bus caught on fire in Valhalla on Grasslands Road (Route 100), according to the Valhalla Fire Department. Luckily, no students were aboard the bus at the time and no injuries were reported.
