Areas north of I-287 in the Hudson Valley could see up to 4 inches of snowfall accumulation, according to the National Weather Service.
A Winter Storm Advisory has been issued for Northern Westchester, Putnam and Rockland from 12 a.m. Sunday to 12 a.m. Monday.
Southern Westchester will see a mix of rain, sleet and snow with up to 2 inches of snow possible.
Periods of snow, sleet or freezing will cause travel difficulties throughout Westchester, Putnam and Rockland, warns the National Weather Service.
The snowfall predictions in the image above were released by the National Weather Service on Saturday around 5 p.m.
Precipitation should begin sometime around at or before dawn Sunday. Rain and snow will fall at times throughout the day Sunday, turning the rain in areas farther south, where the high temperature will reach around 38 degrees. Northern Westchester, Putnam and Rockland will see more snow during the day as the temperature rises above freezing a bit later, with the high temperature reaching around 35 degrees.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 7 a.m. Sunday to 7 p.m. Monday in for Dutchess, where snowfall accumulations of 5 to 8 inches are expected.
