Snowfall accumulation of between 1 and 3 inches is expected in the Hudson Valley, according to both the National Weather Service and AccuWeather.com.

After a sunny day Thursday with a high in the mid-40s, clouds will increase, with a chance of rain from the early evening until around 10 p.m., when a mix of rain and snow is expected.

The wintry mix should change to all snow after 1 a.m. and continue into the morning commute before tapering off an ending by midday with a chance of snow light snow in the afternoon.

Friday's high temperature will be in the mid-30s.

There is still some uncertainty surrounding the storm, however.

More snow is possible than the projected 1 to 3 inches of accumulation if the changeover from rain to snow comes earlier than now projected or if snowfall lasts longer than expected Friday morning and into the early afternoon.

Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny, but brisk, with the high temperature struggling to climb past 32.

After a mostly sunny day Monday with a high in the mid-30s, there's a 50 percent chance of snow Monday into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
