After several busloads of migrants and asylum seekers arrived in a Hudson Valley town without warning, the county has been granted a temporary restraining order barring more. A new Jersey Mike's sandwich shop has opened in the Hudson Valley. The new Jersey Mike's Subs is located at 2627 South Road Suite #20 in Poughkeepsie. The grand opening took place on Monday, March 7, and was attended by state and local officials, including Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, according to an announcement from the Dutchess County Government. One Dead In Hudson Valley Condominium Fire
One person died when a fire broke out in a second-floor Hudson Valley condo unit, officials announced. Crews from the Arlington Fire Department responded to the Greenbriar Condominiums on South Road (Route 9) in Poughkeepsie at approximately 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, where there was a report of smoke coming from underneath the sink of a unit. Death Of Woman, 38, Staying At Area Hotel Called 'Suspicious'
A death of a 38-year-old woman who rented a hotel room in the area for one night has been described as suspicious by police. The woman, identified as Chrystel Yager, stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn at 2525 South Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Sunday, July 8 and Monday, July 9, said police.
