Person Hospitalized After Car Slams Into Pole In Northern Westchester
A person was sent to the hospital after their vehicle smashed into a pole in Northern Westchester, snapping it completely. The incident happened on Wednesday, June 28 around 8:45 a.m., when firefighters in Somers were sent to Amawalk Road, where a car had crashed into a pole, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Once crews arrived at the scene, they found wires hanging from the damaged pole, which had been snapped by the impact. One person was then taken to a local hospital by Somers EMS. 3-Car Collision Leaves Person Injured, Slows Traffic On Busy Hudson Valley Road
A crash involving three vehicles left a person injured and clogged traffic on a busy Hudson Valley road. On Wednesday, Dec. 21, around 3:15 p.m., first responders in Putnam County were sent to Route 6 near the Park Ford dealership for a three-car collision, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department. One Driver Trapped In Head-On Westchester Crash
A two-vehicle head-on crash trapped the driver of one vehicle in Northern Westchester. The crash took place around 8:17 a.m., Friday, Feb. 14, at the intersection of Mahopac Avenue and Route 35 in Somers, said the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. The first units on the scene found the trapped driver, and with a crew of five using the Jaws of Life to remove the side of the vehicle, the driver was removed within eight minutes, the department said. Four Cats Missing , Woman Displaced After Three-Alarm Fire Breaks Out In Somers
A three-alarm fire left four cats "unaccounted" for and a Somers woman homeless. More than 75 firefighters battled the blaze that started around 9:44 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of a home on Anita Road, said the Somers Fire Department. The fire, which spread to the first and second floor, left the homeowner, Nancy Haggerty, a lifetime Somers resident, without any belongings and missing her four cats.
