New York lawmakers are considering legislation that would force internet providers to compensate customers for service outages. Under the “Internet Service Outage Consumer Protection Act,” providers would be required to issue prorated bill credits to customers for any service outages lasting more than an hour. Train Service To Hamptons Suspended After Derailment,

All Long Island Rail Road service to the Hamptons has been suspended after a Montauk train sideswiped a work train, derailing both, early Saturday morning, May 25. "Service is suspended east of Patchogue on the Montauk Branch after a train due in Montauk at 4:09 a.m. sideswiped a non-revenue train east of Speonk as part of a passing maneuver," the LIRR said in a statement.
