Rob Astorino Concedes To Pete Harckham In State Senate Race
Three weeks after Election Day, incumbent Democratic State Sen. Pete Harckham has declared victory over Republican challenger Rob Astorino in the 40th Senate District.
The race between the two had been hotly contested, though absentee ballots turned the tide for Harckham. At the time of his concession, Astorino held a slight lead, though there were thousands of ballots still to be counted.
The 40th district includes parts of Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties.

A familiar face is coming back to chase a seat in the New York Senate.
Republican Rob Astorino, the longtime Westchester County Executive, announced he is planning to run for the 40th state Senate seat currently held by Sen. Peter Harckham.
