Teen Charged With Dwai After Driver, Passenger Trapped In Single-Vehicle Crash On Taconic An 18-year-old teen was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol following a crash that trapped both the driver and a passenger. The crash took place around 8:55 p.m. Thursday on the Taconic State Parkway in Pleasant Valley, said Trooper AJ Hicks with the New York State Police. The unidentified driver of the 2017 Honda Accord was treated at MidHudson Regional for minor injuries. The passenger was not injured. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 15, 2019.

Area Man Killed When Motorcycle Hits Curve, Crashes An area man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a guardrail. Carmin Quintero, 27, of Plesant Valley was killed just after 3 p.m. Sunday when he crashed on I-80 eastbound in Wharton, N.J., said New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez. Quintero was riding a Honda motorcycle when he got off at Exit 34 and struck a curb, overturned and both he and his bike hit the guardrail, Goez said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, he added. No other vehicles were involved and Quintero was the only person involved, state police said.
