Yorktown Student-Athletes Sign Letters Of Intent
Six Yorktown High School student-athletes made their college commitments official on Tuesday by signing letters of intent to play sports at their chosen colleges, bringing the total number of varsity athletes from YHS who will play on Division I and Division II teams in 2018-19 to 18. Lacrosse Coach Arrested At Area High School For Possession Of Narcotics
A boys lacrosse coach on one of the area's most successful programs was arrested at the school on an active warrant for possession of narcotics, according to the Waterbury Police Department. Raul Bourgeois, a coach on Darien High School's freshman team, was arrested around 2 p.m. Thursday by Darien Police officers after being notified by the Waterbury Police Department, that he was believed to be on the campus, Darien Police said. Woman To Be Sentenced In Drunk Driving Death Of Manhattanville Student
The Westchester County woman who pleaded guilty to drinking, driving and killing a 21-year-old Manhattanville College lacrosse player is due to be sentenced this week. Rye resident Emma Fox, 26, is scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday for her role in the fatal crash that took the life of Fishkill resident Robby Schartner, who graduated from Brookfield, Conn., High School and formerly lived in Putnam County, in Garrison. A standout varsity girls lacrosse player in the Hudson Valley died Saturday at age 16. Allison Lorraine Kidney was a goaltender in her sophomore year at Warwick High School in Orange County.
