Illegal Immigrant Loses Appeal In Wife's Christmas Eve Murder In Mahopac An illegal immigrant from Ecuador who was convicted of brutally murdering his teenage wife in Mahopac on Christmas Eve in 2010 has lost an appeal of his conviction. Paul Amay, now 32, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Nov. 2011 for killing 19-year-old Mahopac High School grad Gloria Zhingri in an apartment attached to her parents home.
