Former Supervisor of Northern Westchester Town Dies After Illness
A man from Northern Westchester who was known for his dedication to serving his community has died after battling an illness. Former Cortlandt Town Supervisor Charles DiGiacomo died on Thursday, Dec. 29 at the age of 82, according to his obituary. Originally a native of Ossining before moving to Cortlandt Manor, DiGiacomo graduated from Ossining High School in 1958 as class president before earning his bachelor's degree from Pace University. Officer Chases Down Westchester Driver With Illegal Gun, Magazine, Ammo, Police Say
A New Jersey police officer chased down a Westchester County driver who was carrying a gun when he bolted during a pre-dawn traffic stop, authorities said. Fairview Officer Sebastian Castano stopped the Toyota Camry on 91st Street and Kennedy Boulevard just over the North Bergen border after the driver was unable to maintain a lane while heading south on Bergen Boulevard, Police Chief Martin Kahn said. Two Store Clerks Charged With Selling Alcohol To Minor During Detail, State Police Say
Two store clerks were charged with selling alcohol to a minor during an underage enforcement operation conducted by state police in the area. The detail, held on Saturday, May 23 in Dutchess, utilized an underage volunteer to purchase alcohol under the observation of plainclothes investigators and supported by uniformed troopers. A total of 18 store clerks refused to complete the sale of alcohol to the volunteer.
