New Update: Private Carters To Fill In For Repossessed Garbage Trucks In Northern Westchester Two private carters have agreed to help pitch in to collect trash from residents in a Northern Westchester town after five garbage trucks were repossessed right before Labor Day weekend. Garbage Hauler Fined Nearly $60K By Northern Westchester Town: Here's Why A garbage hauler company has been fined nearly $60,000 by a town in Northern Westchester after failing to properly collect trash and recycling, officials said.  The town of Yorktown fined its garbage hauler, Competitive Carting Corporation, a total of $59,500 after it allegedly violated its contract and failed to properly collect household refuse and recycling during the first week of July, Yorktown officials said on Thursday, July 20.  The fines were announced by Town Supervisor Tom Diana, who said that they would continue if the company continued to not properly collec…
