ID Released For Swimmer Found Dead In Area Lake A Fairfield County man found dead in Lake Carmel after an exhaustive search has been identified by police in Putnam County. Jeremy Kipnis, 54, of Redding, was found floating in the middle of Lake Carmel around 5:30 a.m., Monday, July 22, said the Kent Police. Kipnis disappeared after telling his wife he was going swimming Saturday afternoon, July 20, but then never returned home. Fire Destroys Two-Story Home In Putnam A fast-moving fire destroyed a Putnam County two-story home Sunday. The fire broke around 3:35 p.m. at the home in Kent on Hortontown Road, the Kent Fire Department said.  When firefighters arrived, they found a fully-involved fire on the second-floor of the home that is located close to the Dutchess County border.  Mutual aid crews included Carmel, East Fishkill, Lake Carmel, and Putnam Valley fire departments, along with help from the Putnam County Fire Investigation Team and the Putnam County Fire Police, the department said.
