A former mayor in Northern Westchester announced his intention to run for a seat in the New York State Assembly. Former Peekskill Mayor Andre Rainey announced that he would run for New York State Assembly in the 95th District to replace longtime Assemblywoman Sandra Galef, who announced she would be retiring after serving two decades in office on Monday, Jan. 10. Domestic Disputes, Screaming Man Top Mount Kisco Police Blotter
Police intervention was required in Mount Kisco after a woman got into a dispute with the father of her child, investigators said. Westchester County Police officers responded to a Carpenter Avenue home in Mount Kisco shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, where there was a report of a domestic dispute involving a woman and the father of their child. According to police, the father wanted to take the child for the evening, and an argument broke out between the two when the mother refused. Police Locate Missing 12-Year-Old Hudson Valley Boy
A Hudson Valley boy who was missing for a day has been located by police in a hospital waiting room. Jordan Acres, 12, of Kingston went missing about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when he was last seen near the Boys & Girls Club, said Kingston Police. Police found the boy about 24 hours later at the Kingston Hospital waiting room trying to stay warm, said Det. Lt. Thierry Croizer. "He wanted to spend time with friends and then looked for a warm spot to stay," Croizer said. The boy was afraid he would get in trouble, and wasn't a runaway, police said.
