Mayer has been at the helm of the girls varsity program for the past 13 years. Most of his wins have come during the last eight seasons and each of those seasons the Wildcats have qualified for the Class B sectional playoffs. Adding to his resume, Mayer was named Coach of the Year in the team's respective conference/league in the 2006-07, 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.

After his 100th win against Sleepy Hollow on Tuesday, Dec. 16,  Mayer was presented with a glass basketball to mark the milestone. His mom, Cathy Mayer, a basketball coach herself, was in the crowd to see her son reach this momentous plateau.

"I have been very lucky to coach many terrific student athletes and it has been a pleasure coaching the varsity girls basketball team the last 13 seasons," said Mayer.
