Mt. Pleasant Renegades Host Argentine Team

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – The Mount Pleasant Renegades 11-Under age group traveling baseball team will experience some international competition Thursday when it hosts an 11-Under team from Argentina at Pound Ridge Elementary School at 1 p.m

The Renegades, who are 17-1-1 playing this spring with the New York Elite Baseball, this summer in the Rockland Baseball Association, and in traveling tournaments, are coached by Scott Carpenter and his assistants Brian Panker, Mike Matica and Ray Sassano.

“We put together a team of local kids who really enjoy playing summer ball,” Carpenter said. “It’s great because the kids all know each other and have played their hearts out as a team. This game (against Argentina) will be a nice experience for the boys.”

The Mount Pleasant and Argentine players will spend some time together prior to the game at the Pound Ridge Elementary School, gathering at noon with a scheduled 1 p.m. first pitch.

The Renegades team consists of Kevin Lee, Danny Melillo, Matt Panker, Vincent Spaziante,  Kazuma Sato, Matt Sassano, Tommy Carpenter, Christian Drake, Mike Matica, Nick Satriale and Tommy Iazzetta.
