A 41-year-old Fairfield County woman is behind bars after New York State Police say she threw a hatchet at a male victim and rammed his vehicle during a domestic dispute in Northern Westchester.

Troopers responded to Spring Hill Road in North Salem to assist North Salem Police Department with a domestic dispute on Thursday, March 30 at approximately 9:30 p.m.

An investigation determined the dispute began on Route 116 around 4:30 p.m. when Debbie P. Coller of Stamford is alleged to have rammed the victim’s vehicle several times with her own vehicle, police said.

Coller then forced entry into the victim’s residence and allegedly threw several items at the victim, including a hatchet, an also caused damage to property inside the residence, according to police. Coller then attempted to prevent the victim from calling 911 for help during the incident, police said.

Coller was charged on March 30 with burglary in the first degree, a Class B felony, as well as assault in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, and criminal mischief in the second degree, all class D felonies.

She was also charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, menacing in the second degree, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, and preventing an emergency call, all Class A misdemeanors.

The victim then reported on Monday, April 2 to the state police that Coller had contacted him several times since her arraignment in violation of the order of protection.

Coller appeared in court proceedings at the North Salem Court on April 2 and was taken into custody by the state police for an additional charge of criminal contempt in the first degree.

Coller was arraigned before the town of North Salem Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $70,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear before the court on April 6.
