Woman Killed After Crashing Into Rock Wall In Northern Westchester

A 74-year-old Northern Westchester woman was killed after her car hit a rock wall on Sunday.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. Sunday on Springvale Road in Cortlandt, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.

Marianne Grauert of Cortlandt was traveling north in her 2002 Dodge Neon when she veered off the shoulder of the roadway and into the rock wall near Spring Place, said Hicks.

She was transported by Cortlandt EMS to NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital, where she died a couple of hours later, Hicks said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
