New York State Police troopers stopped a 2014 Dodge Charger in New Castle at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 in New Castle, when the driver committed a traffic violation. During that stop, police said that probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established.

Police said that during the investigation, it was determined that one of the passengers, New Castle resident Jennifer Lamp, 40, was in possession of cocaine and she was subsequently arrested, according to police.

Lamp was arrested and charged with a felony count of criminal possession of cocaine.

Following her arraignment, she was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.

She is scheduled to appear in the Town of New Castle Court this week to answer the charge.
