The suspect of a Greenwich hit-and-run crash was tracked down in Westchester, authorities say.
The hit-and-run crash was reported to Greenwich Police Department Saturday, Jan. 26 around 11 p.m. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle crashed into three unoccupied parked vehicles in the area of Byram before fleeing the scene.
The vehicle was tracked and located in Port Chester. The registered owner was contacted over the phone, however, they stated they were not operating the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the accident, the operator, 18-year-old Esteban Lopez of Bridgeport, was arrested and charged with evading responsibility and unsafe movement.
Lopez was released on a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Monday, Feb. 11.
