According to officials, at approximately 10:45 a.m., two masked men held up a Verizon store in the Rose Hill Shopping Center, prompting a precautionary lockout at nearby schools.

Police said one of the suspects showed a handgun at the store and the two sped off in a dark sedan. It was not immediately clear if the two made off with any cash or goods.

Lockouts have been initiated at the Westlake campus and Columbus Elementary School.

During the lockout, students and staff are not permitted to exit the buildings and no visitors are permitted until the precautions are lifted.

“Please do not attempt to pick up your children or gain access to the buildings until the all-clear is given,” school officials stated. “We will keep you informed of the situation as we have more information.”
